Background
Since 2011, Locavore has been developing practical, real-world alternatives to the dominant food system. They have opened grocery shops, established a market garden and veg box scheme, and supported thousands of people to better understand where their food comes from and how it is produced.
Recognising that many challenges stem from a food system dominated by large corporations and supermarket chains, it seeks to offer a different model — one that prioritises people, producers and the planet over profit. Locavore's ambition is to grow within the same marketplace as major food businesses, but with a fundamentally different purpose: to make good food accessible and affordable while ensuring it is produced and sold in ways that are fair, transparent and socially responsible. By reinvesting profits back into its mission, the organisation strengthens local food economies and drives long-term change.
The Challenge
Locavore offers a wide range of products for delivery across an extensive geographic area. This means managing a high volume of orders while efficiently organising routes that serve both rural communities and densely populated urban areas. On top of this logistical complexity, they handle veg boxes, bespoke orders, and customer swaps — all of which require flexibility and precision.
They also needed a website that truly reflected who they are and the scale of their operation. Their previous setup was split across two domains — one for information and another for their veg box store — creating a fragmented experience and poor user journey for customers.

By moving to our platform, Locavore consolidated both websites into a single domain, creating a seamless, high-quality digital experience. Customers can now effortlessly move between learning about physical store locations and placing delivery orders, all within one cohesive environment.
Behind the scenes, our tablet-optimised packing screens enable their team to efficiently process a high volume of orders without sacrificing flexibility. Locavore can continue offering extensive customer choice while streamlining operations — delivering a better experience for both their customers and their team.
